While Chanukah is mostly about sufganiyot and other fried foods, I always make a batch (or 100... ) of sugar cookies. I've even hosted decorating parties and sold cookie kits with cookies made from this recipe. These are delicious and festive and so much fun to decorate! If you're a kid or a kid at heart, mix up your icings, gather up a bunch of different sugars and sprinkles and get decorating!

Kichel (or Nothings in my hometown of Winnipeg) are traditional cookies that always have a place at simchas, life events, and holiday tables. They're simple, dry cookies that are perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. (They also freeze well, so make a double batch so you always have some in the freezer!)
Rosh Hashana starts in less than a week and my Pear and Cinnamon Swirled Challah is a great addition for your Rosh Hashana menu. Lightly sweetened challah dough swirled with a brown sugar and cinnamon pear butter, forming beautiful round challot.
Honey Garlic Brisket is one of my new favourites. It's made with just a few ingredients and takes very little active work. Oh, and it's delicious! I like to eat it with steamed rice, spooning lots of the sauce on top.
I've always liked honey cake, but This Date Honey Cake is my new favorite. The dates add richness to the cake but more importantly, they add so much moisture! Made in a loaf pan rather than the typical bundt pan, it's a great option if you're not hosting a large crowd for the holidays. If you are hosting a large crowd, bake at least 2! ;)
